In 1994 Southern Baptist missionaries, Jerry and Janice Jones began the transformation of an old barn near Ellington, Ny into a beautiful country church.
Formaly the Rexford Dance Hall,
it had stanchions for cows in the lower section and a hardwood dance floor in the upper section.
Five years latter, children's footsteps have replaced hoofbeats in the lower section, and hymns have replaced dance tunes on the top floor.
The work took more than 30 work crews from the 'Georgia Baptist Association', with workers coming from Alabama, Virginia, and the Carolinas.
A poem by Virginia Waldron says it best:
God's able to use anyone anywhere
If we're faithful and hear his plea.
See this barn that once housed cattle
But now spiritually feeds you and me.
